Measure and Leading

Measure: The length of the line. Ideally 45-75 characters. Anything longer, and the eye loses its place when scanning back.
Leading: The space between lines.

If the measure is too wide, the eye gets lost. If the leading is too tight, the text is dark and claustrophobic.
