Walk Log: Sentier des Caps
Four hours, one moose print, zero bars of signal.
The trail climbs through spruce that have been practising patience since before confederation. At kilometre six the river shows up below like a sentence you forgot you started. I ate a sandwich on a rock that has hosted, conservatively, ten thousand sandwiches.
What I came to think about did not come. Something better did: nothing, for almost an hour.
The forest keeps better minutes than I do. I just sign them.
Next walk: identification-notes-trillium country.
