Reading Outside: Two Months with E-ink
Sunlight stopped being the enemy.
E-ink is the slowest fast technology we have: a screen that refreshes like a thought changing its mind, holds a page with zero power, and disappears completely behind whatever you are reading. Two months in, my notes are longer and my battery anxiety is gone.
The real feature is what it cannot do. No notifications. No video. No infinite anything. The hardware enforces the discipline the software industry sells back to us as a subscription.
This garden ships an e-ink mode for the same reason: the page should cost almost nothing — see default-settings-are-a-design.
